WHY I LOVE THEM?

I only found out about these two gentlemen after discovering the first episode of Jeeves and Wooster. I was incredibly charmed by their comedy, and I love double acts. Something about their partnership really appeals to me!

Though I admire their cleverness, cultural impact, and love of language, what I adore above all is the genuity of their friendship.

They're not only a double act, but they started their careers together! Fry was Laurie's best man! I have a strong appreciation of friendship-- who doesn't? I strongly hang on to my own friends and I can't help but grow attatched to strong friendships in media aswell.

Their chemistry is apparent. I love them.

FRY: He was furious.. but it had an upside, because.. there was a letter when I got back that said: "because.. it's as if you don't realize how much I love you." He said-- he used that word! And I thought: that's so un-Hugh to talk like that; men don't talk like that to eachother. It was actually a wonderful breakthrough in a way, because it was sweet!

FRY: Hugh is my sergeant major, my matron, my girlfriend, my one night stand, all rolled into one. He's everything to me. And to Hugh? I'm nothing. I'm less than a lump beneath the shoe.

LAURIE: He's a number in a book. We- We do get on well. He's the rationalist father.
